As one nears any body of water, be it San Francisco Bay or Spreckels
Lake in S.F.'s Golden Gate Park, the sight of any boat in motion
draws attention. But the tugboats are always a little more interesting
to us because they're usually doing something not just floating
by. They might be pulling or pushing one or more barges or assisting
a ship; or even heading back to home dock. They're just busy.
Even the small remote control ones are pushing something around,
usually each other if there's no barge available. They're always
waiting to rescue a disabled vessel. This internet site is dedicated
to the big ones, the little ones and those of us who love them.

The Little Tugs These bring
out the best in the hobbyists and craftsmen from local Clubs around
the world. There's a list of events
for model tugs only, where you can see them at their best. Stop
by, they may let you play with one! Just ask real nicely!
San Francisco Model Yacht Club
This will be the unofficial site for one of the oldest model sailing
clubs (since 1898) and home of the original model tugboat competition:
the SFMYC Model Tugboat Regatta: the Seaway Towing Cup, formerly
known as the Crowley Cup.
